Welcome DeKalb Forestry Products

DeKalb Forest Products, Inc. was established in 2002 by Rodney Driskill of Crossville, Alabama and Greg Yarbrough of Scottsboro, Alabama.

Rodney has logged in the area practically all of his life and Greg was a Forest Supervisor for Bowater for 21 years. Combined, they have over 50 years of experience in timber management, logging, and woodland operations.

DeKalb Forest Products, Inc. has the ability to market all forest products that exist on tracts in the Northeast Alabama area. From high grade hardwood logs down to biomass, we have established long term relationships with dozens of forest product companies.

Our logging crews are all certified through the Alabama Forestry Association’s Professional Logging Management course of study and maintain liability and workers compensation insurance.

Alabama Best Management Practices are followed on all contracted logging jobs. Replanting and site preparation are encouraged and we office to arrange for replanting contractors. We supervise the replanting at no additional cost to landowners that we cut timber on.

We are committed to Better Business Bureau standards and have been a member with an A+ rating since 2006. We are currently being evaluated to be recognized by the Forest Stewardship Council as a Certified Supplier of Forest Products.

Since 2009, we have provided all the raw materials for Lee Energy Solutions’ wood pellet plant in Crossville, Alabama.

As a Alabama Forest Products company, we seek out timber tracts that are smaller in diameter than most. Tracts that would be a very marginal tract for normal logging are what we seek out. We chip almost everything in a tract that is not usable for a higher and better use, and merchandise the other for the most possible yield for the landowner.
